Fomapan 400 developed in Caffenol

I’m hooked. Developing film at home is so exciting. After my experiment of shooting Fomapan 400 @ ISO 200 didn’t work out well (maybe because I light leaked the film a bit 😅), this experiment was a full blown success. Beside a few images that were underexposed all photos turned out great, and I’m truly surprised by my little Konica C35 EF3 zone focusing camera. I’ve already loaded it with some Agfa APX 100 which I’ll shoot at ISO 200, let’s see how that goes! (The results are already in!)

Here’s the formula I used:

  • 54g of washing soda
  • 16g of vitamin C powder
  • 10g of salt (with indium)
  • 40g if instant coffee (cheap one from Aldi)

This recipe is known as Caffenol C-H, the salt is the only difference from the one I used before, which is needed for higher ISO films. The original recipe said to add 5-15g per litre of water so I chose the middle ground with 10g. I’m quite happy with the results!

You can find the entire roll on my Lomography profile.
