13 years ago, in 2010, I went outside at night and took a bunch of “light painting” photos. By setting the camera to a long exposure (8s in this case) and “drawing” in the air with a flashlight these lines are created. It was a fun evening and from looking at the photo now it’s […]
Some recent street snaps
It’s been a while since I last posted some photos here. The year so far has been rather uninspiring and I didn’t get out a lot. I’m looking forward to warmer days and more time outside. 🙂
A cold walk in the park
The weather was really nice today, -6 degree Celsius with bright sunshine, so I headed out to the Kurpark to take some photos. I’m just falling more and more in love with the Fujifilm X-Pro 1, it gets me excited to go out and take photos! All photos are straight out of camera with no […]
A bunch of selfies on pushed film
“Pushing film” means you shoot a film at a higher ISO than what it is rated for. Shooting a 100 ISO film at 200 ISO means it’s pushed +1 or “one stop”. Shooting it at 400 means it’s pushed +2 or “two stops” and so on. From my experience this increases the contrast and removes […]
A day at the Südfriedhof
A week ago I packed my Fujifilm X-Pro1 and Revue 6×6 and headed to the Südfriedhof in Wiesbaden, a huge cemetery I’ve wanted to visit since moving to Wiesbaden. I’ve always liked going to graveyards and enjoying the silence, looking at the different graves and searching for the oldest. Here are some of the photos, […]
An exploration of slow shutter speed photography and light painting. All photos were taken between 1/8s and 2s shutter speeds This is a first look at an ongoing series.
The 24HourProject is a global photography event where photographers publish one photo every hour to document the world around us and raise awareness for climate change. My friend Marian (@m.von.d on Instagram) was the Organiser and Ambassador for Frankfurt so I joined in and prepared for a day of photography in Frankfurt, excited for both […]
Lunch break walk
In my lunch break I took my Fujifilm X30 for a walk through town and tested a new black and white preset I created. I love the strong blacks and subtle, almost soft greys it gives.
A small update on the Big Mini
I got a new backside! If you follow me on Instagram or read this blog you may know that I got a Konica Big Mini for cheap off eBay. The seller said it was broken and sold it for 25 Euro, but when it arrived I figured out that only the backside LCD was broken […]
One of my pictures was chosen by Lomography.de as “Foto Der Woche”
Right now one of my photos is featured on Lomography.de as “Foto der Woche” (Photo of the week). I’m incredibly happy (and proud!) that this photo was chosen and it truly made my day! You can see the photo and more of this kind on here on my Lomography page.
